Content Marketing & Social Media Specialist

FORTHGEAR, an integrated marketing, communications and design company, established in 1995, is looking for a qualified Content Marketing and Social Media Specialist.

This position is chock full of varied content marketing activities, both online and printed, and there is never a dull moment. The role maintains a healthy balance of related work opportunity and aligns with multiple client relationships. This individual will work independently, and as part of a broader team, including strategic planners, online marketing experts, web developers, graphic designers and videographers. Responsibilities—(flexible and adaptable to help tailor the right fit)

  • Content development and copywriting—including general use, websites, blogs, externally published articles, press releases, infographics, video scripts and other projects
  • Content editing and some proofing (external professional proofing is already in place)
  • Content marketing strategies, planning and tactics implementation
  • Social media channels setup, optimization, monitoring and management
  • Social media editorial planning, development and posting
  • Graphics coordination
  • Channel/post promotions and proactive engagement/outreach
  • Advertising support
  • Performance reporting
  • Coordination on broader marketing initiatives and related support
  • Qualitative market observations and research
  • Understanding of online marketing practices: SEO; lead generation; analytics; related
  • Press release distribution and reporting
  • Client relationship management and clients nurturing
  • Business development
  • Understand and work within project budgets and coordinate billing
  • Engage with inside teams and outside contractors
  • Support and manage internal processes
  • Ideate tactics to utilize existing content in other manifestations


Desirable skill sets:

  • Working knowledge and/or background with MS Office, popular social media platforms, marketing software and various online applications

Other pertinent information:

Experience preference: 1-3 years of industry background

Educational preference: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related degree.
